Juicing 101

Before a Skinny Cleanse

  • From approximately 3 days leading up to your cleanse, prepare your body by hydrating properly and introducing more wholesome foods to your diet.
  • Start each day with a glass of warm water with fresh lemon juice, adding optional ginger or cayenne. This improves circulation and begins the body’s natural detoxification processes.
  • Hydrate throughout the day with filtered still water, aiming to drink at least 2 litres per day.  Hydration is key to a successful cleanse.
  • Reduce or eliminate consumption of animal products, processed and preserved foods, alcohol, grains, and refined sugar. The objective is to prepare the body for a liquid-only diet and reduce the fluctuations in glucose levels, so the appetite is reduced when it comes time to cleanse.

During a Skinny Cleanse

Congratulations you have officially started your cleanse! Here are main things to keep doing during your cleanse to feel great and maximise the benefits:

  • Drink a glass of warm water and lemon (ginger/cayenne optional) first thing every morning to kick start your day.
  • Drink your Skinny Juices in the order indicated on the bottle cap, every 2 hours.
  • Hydrate: Drink at least 8 glasses of water in between your juices.
  • Move: light exercise helps release toxins, so get moving to get the juices flowing.
  • Rest: Get plenty of sleep.
  • If during your cleanse you feel completely flat and you need solids, have a few slices of apple or cucumber.

After a Skinny Cleanse

You did it! But don’t stop now. Your body is still detoxing after you finish your cleanse. The worst thing you can do is go back to eating and drinking unhealthily, in fact you most likely won’t feel like it because your body will continue to crave the high levels of nutrition it has been exposed to.

The best thing you can do is transition slowly into solid foods for a few days after your cleanse. Plenty raw fruit and veg is recommended. Continue to drink your 8 glasses of water each day, herbal tea, and a incorporating a Skinny juice each day is also a great idea. Avoid fizzy sugary drinks, and only introduce coffee slowly, preferably without dairy.

Post Cleanse Menu Example

Day 1:

  • Breakfast = Fresh fruit or raw vegetable salad 
  • Snack = Skinny Juice *
  • Lunch = Fresh fruit smoothie, raw nuts
  • Snack = Skinny Juice *
  • Dinner = Steamed vegetables and raw salad drizzled with olive oil and lemon

Day 2:

  • Breakfast = Fresh fruit or raw vegetable salad 
  • Snack = Skinny Juice *
  • Lunch = Fresh salad with boiled eggs
  • Snack = Skinny Juice *
  • Dinner = Steamed vegetables and fish drizzled with lemon

Day 3:

  • Breakfast = Fresh fruit and boiled egg
  • Snack = Skinny Juice *
  • Lunch = Fresh salad and steamed fish drizzled with lemon
  • Snack = Skinny Juice *
  • Dinner = Steamed vegetables and chicken breast drizzled with lemon

After day 3 you can slowly start introducing red meat and dairy products back into your diet. Remember everything in moderation, so take it slow.
